Information Shield

Regulators that promote a risk-based approach to data integrity will recognise the far-reaching implications of new data protection legislation, such as EU GDPR and ePrivacy regulations, which demand specific controls on storage and the processing of personally identifiable information.

There are greater implications than those stated in the legislation. The awareness of new legislation will also inform regulators’ interpretation of “industry best practice” in relation to all types of data, changing compliance expectations for the future.

Consequently, there is an increasing demand for regulated companies to implement validated systems that are specifically designed to manage sensitive data. These systems must be far more stringent in the security controls that are enforced than the current generation of document management products.

Information Shield was developed with financial support from the UK Government & Military, to address this increasing demand for highly secure management of encrypted information. Its development included demonstrations for Point of Care Testing, Calibration of Distributed Pathology Laboratories, and Medical Records Management across organisational boundaries.

Thinking Safe recently worked with UK Government and the WMG Cyber Security Centre at the University of Warwick to demonstrate new standards for securely processing sensitive information in the cloud, and are now implementing it within our Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions.

The software benefits:

•    Validated data protection services
•    Supports multiple organisations or subsidiaries securely
•    Audit controls and encryption satisfy regulators
•    Easy to implement and validate new services
•    Encrypted big data & secure integration
